You & I Care Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, in alignment with UK Government climate goals and in compliance with Public Procurement Notice (PPN) 06/21.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline Year: 2025 (first reporting year)

This is the organisation’s first formal emissions assessment. You & I Care Ltd operates from a managed and fully furnished office (Create Business Hub), where utilities such as electricity, heating, and water are not billed or controlled by us directly. The majority of our services are delivered in the community, where Carers travel to clients’ homes using their own vehicles.

Emissions Reduction Targets

To progress toward Net Zero by 2050, we have adopted the following targets:

Reduce total emissions to 12.6 tCO2e by 2030
Further reduce to 9 tCO2e by 2035
Reach Net Zero emissions by 2050

This represents a reduction of 30% by 2030 and 50% by 2035 from our 2025 baseline.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Planned/Future Reduction Initiatives

EV Transition Support:
Provide guidance and signposting to Carers on government grants and leasing options for electric vehicles.
Sustainable Transport Incentives:
Introduce a Cycle to Work Scheme and explore carpooling policies for group travel where applicable.
Supplier Sustainability Checks:
Ask service providers and equipment vendors to provide evidence of their own environmental policies.
Low-Impact Office Engagement:
Engage with Create Business Hub to promote shared sustainability practices such as waste reduction and green procurement.
Staff Training:
Introduce climate awareness and energy-saving practices into staff inductions and annual training.

ULEZ-Compliant Vehicle Policy:
All Carers’ vehicles used for work must comply with ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) standards. Compliance is verified through MOT records and vehicle registration data. This ensures all vehicles meet or exceed Euro 6 for diesel and Euro 4 for petrol, significantly reducing NOx and CO₂ emissions.

Digital Care Records:
We are a digital-first organisation. We use an electronic care management system for care monitoring, documentation, and record keeping. This transition has significantly reduced the need for printed materials and administrative travel.

Office Waste and Printing Minimisation:
We minimise printing and avoid unnecessary paper usage. Office waste is centrally managed by our landlord, Create Business Hub, in line with sustainable building practices. In addition, we use a dedicated shredding service to securely manage and dispose of confidential paper waste.

Remote Admin Work:
Administrative staff are enabled to work from home several days per week, cutting down on commuter emissions.

Optimised Scheduling:
Staff rotas are locally clustered to reduce travel distance and idle time.

Declaration and Sign Off:

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting .

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
