Usually we would be congratulating you for making it to 2021, but this time we congratulate you for making it through 2020. It has been a tough year but we have all been resilient and together we hope to see better days ahead.
While 2020 has been tough, we at You & I Care have registered achievements worth celebrating. For this we thank you! To our Service Users, your trust has kept us going. To our committed team of Carers, your resilience and hard work have helped us keep Our Promise to Always Care. To our friends and colleagues, your support and encouragement have kept us hopeful.
As we reflect on 2020 and look forward to a better, safer and prosperous 2021, here are some highlights from 2020 that we thought would be encouraging and worth celebrating with you;
Zero Percent Covid-19 Infections among Staff and Service Users:
Given that most of our Service Users are older adults who are at high risk of Covid-19 admission and mortality, we had a real scare. Nonetheless, we immediately adopted Standard Operating Procedures for our Staff to limit infections and spread of Covid-19 while adhering to government guidelines for isolation and social distancing. To date we are pleased to note that we have maintained a zero percent Covid-19 infection rate among staff and Service Users.
Quality of service:
Despite the many challenges presented by Covid-19, our quality of service in 2020 did not deteriorate. Over the course of 2020 we continued to receive positive reviews from our Service Users, maintaining an excellent review score of 9.8 on homecare.co.uk.
Bigger and stronger team:
Over the course of 2020, we continued to increase the number of our Carers, who are well equipped to provide excellent care to our Service Users. While ensuring diversity in our team, we have continued to encourage young people to become Carers, making them aware of what a rewarding experience it is, and one that promises career growth and progression. The Covd-19 pandemic has also made our team more resilient, with a stronger spirit and commitment to delivering the best quality of service even under adverse circumstances.
Registration of You & I Care-Chelmsford and You & I Care-Mid Surrey:
We are committed to changing the face of ageing. This means that we should be able to extend our award winning Home Care service to new localities where we feel it is needed. In 2020 we have been able to extend our service to Chelmsford and Mid Surrey where we are officially registered by the Care Quality Commission.
Pictorial highlights from 2020:
What does 2021 Looks like for You & I Care?
We hope that 2021 will be the year we recover from the scare of Covid-19. With a vaccine already available and with vaccination progressing impressively, we hope that the scare of Covid-19 will soon be far behind us. 2021 will be the year we spread our wings yet again and fly high.
For our Service Users, 2021 can only be a year we aspire to surpass our high standards. We will not waver in Our Promise to Always Care, and we will not waver in our commitment to changing the face of ageing. We will continue to offer personalised care while supporting our Service Users with love, compassion, empathy and with an eye for improvement.
We will remain steadfast in our campaign dubbed ‘#TheBestCareHomeIsYourOwnHome’ to promote home care as the best alternative of care for people who prefer to stay at home where their quality of life is enhanced without the stress of hardships and interruption or changes in daily routines.
We hope that 2021 will be the year we can socialise again, reach out to more people within the communities where we operate, meet our Service Users, and have more engagements with people interested in becoming Carers though the You & I Care Community Senior’s Club and the You & I Care Hub respectively.
