Here are some of the highlights from 2019,
Home Care Top 20 Award 2019:
In August 2019 we won the top 20 home care provider award 2019 (East of England 2019). The homecare.co.uk Top 20 Home Care Awards 2019 highlighted the most recommended Home Care Providers in each region of the United Kingdom and the Top 20 Home Care Groups in the UK. This award is a reflection of our promise, “To Always Care” and our commitment to providing high-quality services to our Service Users.
Visit by Alex Burghart, the Member of Parliament for Brentwood and Ongar:
On 14th/June/2019 we had a visit from the Member of Parliament for Brentwood and Ongar, Honourable Alex Burghart. The You & I Care team was delighted to share caring experiences with the Member of Parliament.
We had a conversation about several challenges facing the care industry and gave insight on some of You & I Care’s initiatives aimed at changing the face of ageing and caring.
Senior’s Club:
In the continued effort to fulfill our commitment to changing the face of ageing, we throughout the course of 2019 held a series of Senior’s Club Meetups. In these meetups, we have had a chance to interact with seniors, offer advice and support, engage in a number of activities and socialize over tea and music parties. Through these meetups, we have continued to improve our relationship with seniors and become a better part of their lives, helping to stop isolation and keep them actively part of the local community.
You & I Care Hub:
Through the course of 2019 also, we have continued to hold a series of events under the You & I Care Hub, where we have met Carers and people interested in being Carers.
In addition to the You & I Care Hub that happens every last Tuesday of the month at the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Centre, we added another that happens every last Friday of the month at the Brentwood market.
The You & I Care Hub has availed people with an opportunity to talk to our caring team that makes a difference every day, for care advice and support, information on becoming a Carer and socializing.
Bigger and stronger team:
Over the course of 2019, we continued to increase the number of our Carers, who are well equipped to provide excellent care to our Care Users. While ensuring diversity in our team, we have continued to encourage young people to become Carers, making them aware of what a rewarding experience it is, and one that promises career growth and progression.
You & I Care Charitable Initiative:
Through charity, our continued goal is to contribute to the betterment of our communities by overcoming some of the health and social challenges we face. In 2019 we continued to participate in a number of charity initiatives, notable among them being the Cup Cake Day 2019, the memory walk for Alzheimer’s society and the Elf Day, together with a number of fundraising campaigns online.
Events and community engagement:
In 2019 also, we continued with a number of outreach programs aimed at improving our engagement and participation within our communities of operation. We thus attended a number of events including,
- Brentwood chamber of commerce luncheon,
- Billericay & Stock Business Expo,
- Billericay Summerfest.
These events enabled us to best identify with and understand the needs of the communities with in which we operate, through leisure, fun, entertainment and meaningful conversations.
